  • Why group therapy for substance abuse? Group therapy is proven effective. Being in a group therapy setting means having several other people help you set and achieve goals toward your recovery. It is a safe environment that you can get to know others who have gone through similar things in their substance abuse. Group therapy is a natural way to overcome a problem, including addiction. Humans are built to learn and grow in the presences of others. Therapy should not be any different.
